If you have multiple sound devices, such as if you're using integrated (on-board) sound or a sound card and also use HDMI to connect your video to your monitor the video card also has sound and be set as the sound device being used or the video card may be set as the default device. Make sure the correct device, preferrably your on-board or sound card because that's most likely what the game is trying to use, is set as the default and that it's the one windows is using. Use your preferred search engine to figure out how to do this for the version of windows you have if you don't already know how to.If all else fails you can always use an alternative voice com resource such as Steam's chat window, TeamSpeak, Ventrilo, Mumble, Discord, and Roger Wilco.
